3 Minute Gold News

A Quick Read for Busy People

3 minute synopsis of yesterday’s interview with Jim Rogers, chairman of Rogers Holdings and author of Street Smarts: Adventures on the Road and in the Markets

Topics:

War and Market Panic

Gold Will Go Much Higher if There is War

Rough Waters for Emerging Markets

When QE Ends It Will Be a Huge Mess
……………………..

Regarding War and Gold Prices

Jim owns gold and he owns oil, and if there is going to be a war, which America sounds like it is desperate to have a war, then they will go much, much higher.

The stock market will go down, and some of the stocks will go down. Commodities are going to go up.

Jim is not keen on war, but he feels that they want it.

We’ll see supply chain disruption for oil, but the huge move is that in war, no matter how well the plans are laid, strange things happen in war. Who knows what unintended consequences will come?

In history, whenever there is war then food prices have gone up a lot, energy prices have gone up a lot. Copper prices. Lead prices.

Regarding Rough Waters Ahead

India, Indonesia and Turkey all have huge balance of trade deficits. They have been able to finance it with all of the artificial free money. That artificial sea of liquidity is going to end some day.

When it ends then all of people depending on it will suffer.

Whether this week, or this year or next year. They are all going to suffer.

We haven’t seen much suffering yet. Normally in bear markets things go down 40 – 80%. People throw their shares out the window and never want to invest again.

We’ve seen decline but we haven’t seen panic or terror.

Regarding the End of QE

When the sea of liquidity ends we are going to sea panic. Including in the U.S., including in the west.

This is the first time in recorded history that all major central banks have been flooding the world with artificial money printing at the same time.

When this ends it is going to be a huge mess.

Another Week on Wall Street

See the bankers wave the Wall Street wands
See the conjured piles of paper green
Now they’re betting all their tricks go wrong
They’re betting the world as you know it
If they win
You lose the whole world as you know it

Ever seen a long con?
Ever seen a tampered wand?
Ever seen the betters sipping tea?
Making bets just sipping tea
Well don’t talk back
Your betters
Your bankers are having a tee, hee, hee

Heyo heyo, just another week on Wall Street
Heyo heyo  just another week on Wall Street

A little grease (Greece) is floating out to sea
Little PIGS (Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain) are bobbing up and down
So send a storm and we’ll see
when the tide goes out who’s naked on the beach

Ever seen a long con?
Ever seen a tampered wand?
Ever seen the betters sipping tea?
Making bets just sipping tea
Well don’t talk back
Your betters
Your bankers are having a tea, hee, hee

Heyo heyo, just another week on Wall Street
Heyo heyo  just another week on Wall Street

Who’s that wizard hiding behind that hedge?
Who’s that wizard hiding behind that hedge (fund)?

See the bankers wave the Wall Street wands
See the conjured piles of paper green
Now they’re betting all their tricks go wrong
They’re betting the world as you know it
If they win
You lose the whole damn world as you know it

Ever seen a long con?
Ever seen a tampered wand?
Ever seen the betters sipping tea?
Making bets just sipping tea
Well don’t talk back
Your betters
Your bankers are having a tea, hee, hee

Heyo heyo, just another week on Wall Street
