A Quick Read for Busy People

Interesting article from 1999 about gold being recovered from retired radioactive nuclear warheads, and smelted down into potentially radioactive ingots. via Washington Post
Spot gold and gold futures rose the last month because people feel that the Fed might delay raising interest rates — just what Jim Rickards was saying last week. via Bloomberg and CNBC
Gold mining stocks are almost all up. That’s a big change from the last few years. Maybe they’ve hit the bottom of their cycle before they start to swing up again. I’m on the lookout for that, because money is moving out of other more risky stocks, as there’s more unease in everything to do with fiat currency and geopolitical tensions. via Kitco
I have my first Media Pass and will be at the upcoming Cambridge House Vancouver Resources Investment Conference January 18-19, listening to a number of speakers, including Bill Murphy and Chris Powell from GATA, silver specialist David Morgan, and Greg Remsburg from the TV show Gold Rush.
I’ll be quietly watching and covering, but if you see me please say hi. I think that live music would be a good addition to their conference, so if anyone would like to recommend that to the conference I think it would be fun to perform sometime. Art isn’t usually what you see at this type of event, but then again I don’t know of any other artists who cover gold and geopolitics (yet). Mike Maloney has a beautiful Frank Sinatra esque voice if any of you are fortunate enough to get him to sing a bit.
I had dinner with David Morgan and Mike Maloney at a previous Vancouver Resource Investment Conference, and David is full of stories and facts. I loved listening to him, had a great time, and look forward to saying hello again.
