Anti-nuke.
Anti-war.
Pro-diplomacy.
And if the opposition doesn’t negotiate?
The US will not allow North Korea to develop nuke capabilities far enough to be a credible threat to the safety of Americans and allies in their homes. North Korea has made threats for years, and continues to repeatedly makes threats towards America and its allies. Missiles can now reach major American cities. Kim Jong-un is developing nuclear technology and testing as quickly as he can, in the desire to put a nuke on those blind birds.
Allies are important in these times. Working with nations to dampen the intensity of the words of fire and fury on both sides is critical. The threat must know you are capable and willing to defend yourself.
The new UN resolution applies economic pressure for North Korea to stop testing missiles:
UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – The United Nations Security Council unanimously imposed new sanctions on North Korea on Saturday that could slash by a third the Asian state’s $3 billion annual export revenue over its two intercontinental ballistic missile tests in July.
Trump “appreciates China’s and Russia’s cooperation in securing passage” of the resolution, the White House said in a later statement. The U.S. president “will continue to work with allies and partners to increase diplomatic and economic pressure on North Korea to ends its threatening and destabilizing behavior,” it said.
We all hope for a diplomatic outcome.
A TERRIBLE BREEZE
VERSE 1
News comes down
Blue bird sings
Words of war
Fire and furious things
Testing might
No patience knows
If keeping still
still keeps you safe at home
CHORUS
There’s a terrible breeze
they speak of today
Of all the threats that used to live a world away
We all know wind blows both ways
And a terrible breeze
could blow it all away
VERSE 2
Worldwide net
The village grows
’Til we all forget
What we used to know
When a blind bird’s wing
Can reach the shore
And turn the wheel
Of peace and war
CHORUS
BRIDGE
Village fools
sinking down
Debt and gold
Wound in numbered shrouds
Deal of a life
It’s bread and clowns
Can we afford to go another go ‘round?
CHORUS
