The Gold is Coming Home
September 6, 2026 by elainedianetaylor~
The Bars Are Moving
Gold is moving.
Not just in price.
In location.
Between July 2025 and January 2026, the Banque de France made 26 transactions where they sold 129 tonnes of gold held at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. They took the about 13 billion euros and repurchased the bullion in Europe for storage in Paris.
France now stores all of its gold at home in its own vaults.
No press conferences and no announcements.
When the larger cycle is swinging from centralized power to decentralized in the repeating patterns through history, gold is part of that motion.
India repatriated about 274 tonnes from European vaults and now holds about 880 metric tonnes total. Their gold stored abroad dropped from 55% to less than 22% of their total.
In July 2025, Serbia completed the full repatriation of its entire gold reserves. They said they need to insulate against external geopolitical crises.
Germany has political pressure to bring home 1,236 tonnes of the metal currently held at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
That’s more than a third of Germany’s total gold.
No formal plan has been announced.
The World Gold Council’s Central Bank Gold Reserves Survey 2025 says that 59% of central banks now store at least part of their gold domestically.
Up from 41% in 2024 and 50% in 2020.
This is a shift and not a reaction to current events.
The central bank of central banks, the BIS, has tried to control global finance from the center but the pendulum swings, and those without central power were not going to give up their control to a system that strips them of their own sovereignty.
They are now racing to be relevant in a new global monetary system, where they want to track every retail purchase to every human in every wallet. For safety. Of course. Their safety that is, what I mean is the safety of the current centralized system.
In closed systems that are ruled from the hub of the wheel, the center feeds off of the edges and those at the edge send their resources to keep the center strong.
The Second Coming
As W. B. Yeats said in his 1919 poem, “The Second Coming”:
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Central bank gold purchases passed 1,000 tonnes per year in 2022, 2023, and 2024. A pace without modern precedent. That dropped to 863 tonnes in 2025, still well above the historical average of 473 tonnes per year recorded between 2010 and 2021.
They aren’t buying it to make a profit. They don’t care sbout the price. What they care about is that when chaos comes and everything falls apart, the ones with gold sit at the table and make the new rules.
Once the trust is gone then they have to have the gold at home. Allies are shifting as the global power structure is shifting. We aren’t seeing the backroom banker deals or what promises are being made to whom. The public will not be told.
The public will be managed to keep them calm, producing, paying taxes, not making problems for the rulers.
This is always the way in the shift. If you’re in a powerful system you are left alone and if you’re on the edge of the wheel you are extracted from harder, to save the hub.
The U.S. is the hub and they’re going to use their strength to keep their power in the center.
There is a spring, summer, fall and winter. Know which season you are in personally, family-wise, business-wise, community and nation. Finally as the world.
Prepare for the winter storms, lay low and don’t plant while the blizzard winds are blowing.
When the center falls apart it doesn’t mean it won’t be the next center.
Western civilization has gone up and down in the empire cycle a number of times, and each time they moved to the conflict part of the cycle they came up with a new method of expansion, and rose as the new modified ruling empire.
They are working towards doing that again.
Before the whole world devolves into the conflict cycle and things really fall apart. They’re all trying to avoid a mechanical war, except for Europe who needs a diversion from their financial debt problems and declining production levels.
Hopefully there’s a shift and the new tech and new monetary system is sorted out with enough winners that bring a more even playing field and open disclosure and accountability.
Communism did not rise because new technology rose up enough of the masses out of poverty to become managers and technicians that they weren’t ready to storm the castle any more. Capitalism was key.
But we’ll see. History proves lots of shenanigans and hidden deals when it all shifts.
Those in power try to keep the masses moving as one fist, instead of spreading out into individual fingers.
But that fist can also turn against the rulers in a powerful force if things get bad.
This is the widening gyre. A gyre is a spiral of force. The expanding circle disipates the energy until the hub cannot hold the edges together with shared culture or ideology.
The falcon can no longer hear the falconer.
Things fall apart.
Nations are moving physical gold into vaults they control, inside borders they govern, under jurisdictions where executive orders from Washington cannot reach.
The individual in this stage usually moves to smaller connections. Communities, relationships, material handmade things that grow in importance. Maintaining the home becomes more important than expanding and putting capital and good will at risk.
It turns into a winter cycle of mittens and fires and hot chocolate.
But first comes a harvest for those watching.
The Builders Plant the Garden
Those who build new tech plant the garden. Then they pass away and the new power elite are those who manage production and distribution but do not plant.
And people, being people, have a percentage of the whole who loot, and the institution now must protect itself.
So a little looting is allowed and covered up.
Then a little more of the pie is sent to those covering up for those who are taking a bigger slice in the dark.
Until the masses are starving and lift up pitchforks in that darkness.
Carroll Quigley saw this pattern clearly The Evolution of Civilizations. He gave us the tools to analyze it as science.
Empires extract from their citizens.
He breaks culture into six levels:
Military. Political. Economic. Social. Religious. Intellectual.
These levels interact and ripple out from the center.
Then a new weapon or technology changes everything.
Gold is Adaptable
Gold adapts to new technology while the powerful are in a race to dominate a new system.
The elite who hold the physical metal in their possession and control have bargaining power and value no matter how it all pans out.
Gold adapts.
Nations want their gold close to home in this portion of the rise-and-fall cycle.
They are not waiting for the next crisis to see whether foreign custodians will release their precious metal when the owner wants it.
They have watched the precedent.

Thank you to the late David Crosby for his kind messages, including the DM on X saying Terrible Breeze has excellent lyrics and good music.
A Terrible Breeze (War and Social Media)
The news comes down
A little ex (X) bluebird sings
Words of war
Fire and furious things
Of testing might
‘Til no patience knows
If keeping still
Still keeps you safe at home
There’s a terrible breeze
They speak of today
Of threats that used to live a world away
We all know wind
Can blow both ways
And a terrible breeze can blow it all away
A worldwide net
Sees our village grow
Until we all forget
What each one used to know
How a blind bird’s wings
Can reach the shore
And turn the wheel of peace and war
Village fools sinking down, down, down
Debt and gold wound in numbered shrouds
Deal of a life it’s bread and clowns
Can we afford another go around?
The news comes down.
It’s a terrible breeze. The news comes down.

The Gods of the Copybook Headings
words by Rudyard Kipling and music by Elaine Diane Taylor
from the album Preparing for the Fall.
The copybooks of the early 1900s gave us all the wisdom we need. The sayings that were copied are the truths, the gods of our world. All the empires who followed the gods of the marketplace have fallen, and there’s terror and slaughter when the gods of the copybook headings return. The lyrics are by Rudyard Kipling. One of my gurus.

“A little grease (Greece) is floating out to sea, and little pigs (Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain) are bobbing up and down, they’ll send a storm and we’ll see, when the tide goes out who’s naked on the beach“. The world is changing as we know it.
